JSW Steel publishes India’s First Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for Steel

JSW Steel, India’s leading private sector steel producer, just published the first Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for steel in India. It is only the second EPD published for any industry in India and was developed by thinkstep Sustainability Solutions Pvt Limited, a subsidiary of thinkstep AG, Germany with IBU Germany (Institut Bauen und Umwelt e.V.) as the program operator.

The EPD covers “Hot-Rolled Structural Steel Strip” which is used for a variety of applications including: structural steel; drawing, forming and cold-rolling steel; high-strength, low-alloy steel; hot-rolled, medium-carbon steel; and weather-resistant steel. Access the published EPD here.
