The Myth of Free Data

If you have participated in recent conversations about life cycle assessment (LCA) and life cycle inventory (LCI) data in particular, a holy grail has emerged like the proverbial phoenix from the ashes. It goes a little something like this: LCI data should be freely available to everyone who needs it.
