Recycling & End of Life Modeling in Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)

February 20, 2020

Pick the right recycling methodology for your LCA and apply it in GaBi

end of life modeling in GaBi

If a product is recycled multiple times, should the environmental impacts of mining and producing the original material be attributed to the first product? The last product? Shared across each product that uses this material? If shared, how much of the impact do you allocate to each product if you don't know how many times it will ultimately be recycled?

There are many ways to model recycling and end of life treatment of materials in LCA. Learn how the answers to these questions and others will affect your LCA results.

In this course, you will learn about most common End-of-Life allocation approaches in LCA, the trade-offs between each one and how to select which one you should use in your project. You will also learn how to implement each in an LCA model with examples provided using the GaBi Professional LCA software.

When you enroll in this course you will immediately have access to the course materials and recordings of prior webinars. You will also be provided with access to join an upcoming live webinar. The next live webinars will be offered:
