So-called greenwashing of products using ecological arguments is on the increase. The perpetrators, who often focus on one-dimensional indicators such as the carbon footprint, come to astonishingly sweeping and supposedly clear-cut conclusions. thinkstep was commissioned by Gesamtverband der Aluminiumindustrie e.V. (GDA) and Aerobal, the international association of aluminium aerosol manufacturers, which is managed under the GDA umbrella, to provide more transparency in the discussion on whether aerosol cans made from aluminium or plastic (PET) are better ‘ecologically’.
